Cumberland Taverns location

The Sportsman Inn can be found between Keswick and Penrith. The Sportsman Inn enjoys the panoramic views of the rolling eastern edge of the Lake District, and the far northern fells.

The George Hotel and Bank Tavern are situated right in the centre of the Keswick, Cumbria, the capital of the northern Lake District. Keswick is an attractive market town, with a pleasant variety of shops, cafes and pubs. Keswick, set on the shores of Derwent Water, makes an ideal base to explore the surrounding fells including Skiddaw, Catbells or Helvellyn.

Bassenthwaite Lake, Grasmere (the home of William Wordsworth) and Windermere are all within 25 minutes from the Cumberland Taverns.

Keswick is very accessible being just 20 minutes from the M6. Leave at junction 40 (Penrith) and follow the A66 for Keswick. Take the signposted left filter lane into Keswick and drive into town. Pass the Twa Dogs pub on your left and after about half a mile you will pass the Conservative Club. To find you continue for about two hundred yards and turn left at the crossroads into Station Street. Drive carefully down Station Street and after about 150 yards turn up the cobbled lane on your left into the rear car park of The George Hotel.

The Bank Tavern is situated in the heart of the town centre close to all of the towns car parks.
